Q: I am still employed. What do I put in the Employment Information Ending Date field?
A: The ending date for current employment information should be the current month and year (mm/yyyy).
Q: The address that's already showing on my license application is incorrect, and Compliance Express won't allow me to change it. What should I do?
A: To correct your address information you need to contact your resident state Department of Insurance and update your address. Also, you will need to request that the state update your information on the National Producer Database or PDB. This process can take between 5 and 7 days. To find your state’s Department of Insurance contact information, visit Sircon's State Information Center.
Q: How do I find out my NASD CRD Identifier number?
A: Please contact the NASD at 301-590-6500 to obtain your NASD identifier number. Your NASD CRD Identifier number must be 7 digits long.
Q: How do I find out my NPN?
A: The National Producer number or NPN can be obtained from www.licenseregistry.com. On the left side of the webpage is a link titled Producer, click on this link. Next, click on National Producer Number Access. You can search two ways for the number.
1) By SSN and Last Name or
2) By resident license number and state.
Q: A few years ago I declared bankruptcy, and so I must answer "Yes" to the background question that asks about that. How will this influence the decision to approve or deny my license application?

Q: How do I check the status of my application?
A: To check the status of an electronic license application submitted through Sircon, click the Apply for a License link, and then click License Application Inquiry. Enter your application's confirmation ID, your SSN, select Individual as the entity type, and then click the Submit button. If the state has sent back a response to your application it will display under the Result heading.
Q: How long will it take to receive word on my license application?
A: The average processing time for an electronic license application is 5-7 business days. To check on the status of your license application, please use the License Application Activity Inquiry.
Q: My license application was denied. How can I find out why?
A: Please contact the Licensing Division of the state to which you applied for your license to discuss why they denied the license application. Please visit Sircon's State Information Center to find contact information.
Q: My license application was approved, but I haven't received my license. What should I do?
A: After your license is approved please allow 7-10 days for the state to mail you your new license. If after this time the license has not arrived please contact the Licensing Division directly to discuss when and where they mailed the license. Q: I missed the deadline for renewing my license. What should I do?
A: Please contact the renewal state Licensing Division and discuss your options to reinstate your license. Please visit Sircon's State Information Center to find contact information.
Q: My license renewal was denied. How can I find out why?
A: Please contact the Licensing Division of the state to which you applied for renewal of your license to discuss why it was denied. Please visit Sircon's State Information Center to find contact information.
Q: How do I check my continuing education credits?
A: To check your Continuing Education (CE) status, click the Look up Education Courses/Credits link.
Q: How many credits am I required to fulfill for the current CE period?
A: You can locate this information by using the Look up Education Courses/Credits. Then click the Continuing Education Transcript Inquiry link. Under the heading of 'Required Hours' will list the total number of hours that are required for your license to be CE compliant. Also, you can confirm this information by contacting the Continuing Education Administrator in your state.
Q: How many CE credits can I carry forward to the current period from a previous period?
A: The rules for carrying forward credits vary by state; this information can be confirmed by contacting the Continuing Education Administrator in your state.
Q: I entered my Ohio license number, which is my SSN, and the system says it can't find my record. What should I do?
A: In Ohio, your SSN is no longer your license number. To obtain your Ohio license number, please contact Prometric at 800-532-2170.
Q: I have questions about the information on my CE transcript. Who do I contact?
A: For answers to questions regarding your CE transcript, please contact the appropriate state's CE administrator listed below:
Q: There are CE credits missing from my transcript. How do I get this corrected?
A: First, contact the company through which the course was taken to request that your credits be reported to the state. Once the credits have been reported, you should be able to view them on the Sircon Compliance Express website. If the provider company says the credits have been reported but you still don't see them listed on the Sircon Compliance Express website, please contact the Continuing Education administrator for the state in question. (See the preceding FAQ for contact information.)
Q: How do I get my letter of certification?
A: On the confirmation page, click the Click here to view your letter of certification link. This will open the letter in a separate window and allow you to print it.
Q: I printed my letter of certification, but it's cutting off on the right side.
A: To avoid this, do not click the Print button on the browser toolbar. Instead, look inside the window that displays the certification letter, and click the Print text link. This will allow the letter of certification to be printed as a PDF document.
Q: I'm trying to print my letter of certification, and I'm receiving an error that reads "Cannot start print job." How do I print my letter of certification?
A: Try saving the letter of certification to a location on your computer (e.g., Windows® desktop, C:\ drive). Then open the saved document file from that location. This should allow you to print the letter. If you still cannot print, confirm that Adobe Acrobat® version 5.5. or 6.01 or newer is installed on your computer. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat®, of if you have an unsupported version, click here to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat® Reader®. (It's free.)
Q: I'm trying to request a letter of certification for my agency and it gives a message that "Producer must have at least one active license." My agency is licensed. Why am I getting this error?
A: The name of the agency must be entered exactly as it exists in the state's database system. Try entering only the first few characters or the first part of the agency name; this can help the system retrieve the right record.
Q: I'm trying to change my address, and I'm getting an error that says, "Please enter State, Province or Country; only one is allowed." What does this mean?
A: If the address you are changing is within the United States, the system will not allow you to select a country. Make sure you have no country selected.
Q: How do I print my Pennsylvania license?
A: To print a copy of your Pennsylvania license, visit the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance website. Click the Producer Resources link in the menu at the far left of the screen. Under the Online Services heading, click the Print your license online link. Before proceeding with the request, be sure to read the important instructions. If you experience any problems printing the license, please contact the Pennsylvania Insurance Department at 717-787-3840.
